HIS STORY.

  • before Bear was always a mama's boy, tagging along with her whenever he could, adhering to her wishes, doing his best to be the perfect child. This wasn't a competition with his siblings, though, but merely a competition with his mother's other priorities. When she was chipped, and the arguments began about what would become of him and his other siblings, his mother secretly brought him to be chipped as well without anyone else's knowledge. He'd always been well-tempered, so it was almost hard to tell. But not impossible. There were more arguments, and eventually the Bradshaws split. And the Fall happened. And then they were in Autonomous Corpus.
  • autonomous corpus The thing about being calm and content by nature is that it can sometimes be hard to tell when your chip is faulty. Though suffering from headaches and dreams and moments of clarity throughout his childhood and early adulthood, it sort of slipped under the radar. He was a good member of Autonomous Corpus. He barely noticed that his brother went missing. He was respectful and hardworking and dedicated, and while sometimes he forgot everything before a given moment, he wasn't one to fight it. It always came back eventually. Or, at least, enough of it that he knew what his purpose was.
  • undercover? Bear is the perfect sleeper agent. So many of his Veiled emotions come naturally to him, and it shows in his face and the way he talks and moves and is. His chip is purposefully altered to give the appearance of malfunction (its actual problems are missed entirely) and he is told to 'flee' Autonomous Corpus. He does. The expectation is that he won't be able to provide much intel before he's made, but it doesn't really matter — anything will be useful. But when he's picked up by Dislinked, he is lucid and honest. He's not what he appears to be. A kill-switch in his chip goes off, and he goes down. The only thing that saves him is his chip was broken from the start.
  • dislinked When Bear wakes up, he barely remembers a thing except for his first name. Or his nickname, at least. There are fuzzy bits in there - his mother's face, his home at Autonomous Corpus, his betrayal of the Architects. None of it is particularly useful to Dislinked, and whatever has been done to his mind makes it nearly impossible to extract anything. He is resilient though, and good-natured, and ready to help. He starts his work on the ground; no memories doesn't mean he doesn't know how to do anything. He's quick to pick up mechanical work, and dedicates himself to the cause (he's good at dedicating himself to a cause). He's upset sometimes, but he tells himself this is natural and that tempers any discontent. He is happy to have his full range of emotions back.
  • now Bear spends most of his time at remote Dislinked outposts, fixing things with next to nothing and working under harsh conditions, often alone. With the creation of Area Prep, Bear is eventually tapped thanks to his skill at fixing things in the field and under pressure. It's time to move to the Mnemosyne, where he's sure he'll settle right in.

  • He doesn't remember Fox at all initially, though there is an odd sense of familiarity with him.
  • Out in the field Bear didn't sleep much, and it seems like he's making up for lost time. Loves to sleep, doze, nap, go mentally dormant for a few minutes. Has absolutely unhinged dreams that he finds more interesting than troubling.
  • His MacGyver skills extend to the kitchen — he can do a surprising amount with limited ingredients, and his love language is definitely Feed People.
  • Bear's memory is still a little fucky in general, but he takes it in stride.
